About Us
IncoDocs was founded by Ben Thompson and Brandon Boor, who have over 15 years of real world experience in global trade. After recognizing the inefficiencies involved in sourcing and shipping processes, they were inspired to create innovative tools and services that solve common pain points for thousands of small to medium businesses worldwide.
Their journey began in 2009, and since then they’ve launched multiple businesses focused on providing practical solutions to the global trade industry.
2009 - First Experience
Began careers working within the export and logistics sector, where they gathered valuable experience from market leaders in the Asia-Pacific region. This foundational period helped them gain deep insights into global trade, setting the stage for their future ventures.
2013 - Trading Company
Ben and Brandon founded their own trading company to source and manufacture products from factories across Asia with offices established in China to streamline operations. Starting with no initial clients, they successfully grew the company by sourcing thousands of products from hundreds of factories throughout Southeast Asia, shipping them to customers worldwide.
2016 - Software Company
As their trading company grew, Ben and Brandon encountered challenges managing sales and export documentation. To solve this, they developed internal software to streamline operations. Seeing demand from other businesses with similar needs, they commercialized it as IncoDocs, a cloud-based platform that quickly gained traction BY helping tens of thousands of exporters in over 120 countries simplify and scale their businesses.
2019 - Maersk Investment
Maersk, the global shipping line giant, along with Shark Tank investor Steve Baxter and global venture capital firm Blackbird Ventures, invested in IncoDocs to expand the team and drive the growth and development of new tools to streamline the import-export process. Together, Maersk and IncoDocs work toward their shared mission of creating a fully digital supply chain.
2023 - Global Trade Newsletter
After sharing their expertise through blog posts, how-to videos, and media content that attracted millions of views each month, IncoDocs created the Global Trade Newsletter to bring more consistent value to the ecosystem. The newsletter grew rapidly, now reaching over 150,000 subscribers with weekly news, tools, and insights.
2024 - Extended Tools & Courses
Feedback from their growing newsletter community helped IncoDocs identify key pain points, leading to the launch of new tools. They introduced a Landed Cost Calculator to help importers calculate product costs and a free CBM Calculator to assist shippers with cargo volume and weight for efficient container loading. To further support businesses, they also rolled out expert-led courses to help navigate global trade challenges.
Today
IncoDocs has become a trusted all-in-one learning hub, providing software tools, expert content, and educational resources. It helps hundreds of thousands of businesses and trade enthusiasts simplify their processes, expand their knowledge and navigate the complexities of global trade with confidence.
Brandon Boor
Brandon’s natural competitive spirit drives him to achieve the best results in every endeavor. He began his career as a professional footballer, ultimately competing at the 1st grade National Rugby League (NRL) with the North Queensland Cowboys in Australia.
Since transitioning to the business world, Brandon has partnered with Ben to lead IncoDocs as CEO. He continues to guide the team in providing industry-leading tools and resources to help businesses succeed in global trade.
Brandon keeps himself active away from work by weight training at the gym, playing Texas Hold’em poker with friends and following the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL.
Ben Thompson
Ben began his career in 2009 at a trading company, where he gained experience buying and selling building materials throughout the Asia-Pacific region. As an export manager, he traveled across Asia to strengthen supplier relationships, and to the Pacific Islands countries to grow customer relationships and sales.
Through his experience, Ben learned about the fragmented processes along the global supply chain. Always seeking greater efficiency, Ben continually explores ways to leverage new technologies to solve persistent industry problems.
Recognizing the lack of quality resources available to help small and medium-sized businesses succeed in global trade, Ben, who is passionate about helping others achieve success, continues to create valuable content from his real-world experience.
In Ben’s spare time you’ll find him tinkering with vintage cars, along with following motorsport such as speedway and Nascar racing.
